How we handle your data.

1 · Who we are

DJ Anker is a sole-proprietor wedding and event DJ service operating from Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa. The owner is personally responsible for every piece of data this website collects. Inquiries about this policy go to bookings@djanker.com.

2 · What we collect

We only collect data you give us. Specifically:

• Booking + contact details — name, email, phone, event date, venue, guest count, package preference, message body. Collected through the booking wizard and the contact form.
• Payment metadata — last four digits of card, transaction reference, amount, status. The full card number, CVV, and expiry never touch our servers — that data goes directly from your browser to Paystack.
• Anonymous analytics — page views, referrer, viewport, session duration. We do not link these to your identity, do not use third-party trackers, and do not set advertising cookies.

3 · How we use it

• Replying to your inquiry and preparing your event.
• Processing the deposit and the balance via Paystack.
• Creating a calendar entry in DJ Anker's diary so the date is held.
• Sending confirmation and reminder emails about your booking.
• Improving the website based on aggregate, non-identifying analytics.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone outside the processors named below. We do not send marketing emails unless you opt in explicitly.

4 · Where it lives

Four named processors, all contractually bound to protect your data:

• Supabase — booking + contact records, hosted in the European Union region. POPIA-compatible terms.
• Paystack — payment processing, PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Storage of card details on Paystack's infrastructure under their privacy policy.
• Google Calendar API — date-hold writes only. No other Google services are connected to this site.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (booking confirmations, reminders). EU-region.

5 · Cookies

The site sets a single first-party session cookie for the booking wizard so refreshing the page does not lose your selections. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no fingerprinting. Clearing your browser cookies removes everything we keep on your device.

6 · Your rights under POPIA

South African Protection of Personal Information Act, in plain language:

• Ask what we have on you. We reply within a working week.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Ask for it to be deleted. We delete unless there is an active booking or a legal duty to retain (e.g. tax records — see below).
• Object to a specific use, including the analytics described above.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

7 · How long we keep things

• Active bookings — for the duration of the event plus 12 months for follow-up.
• Contact inquiries that did not convert — 6 months, then deleted.
• Payment records — 5 years (SARS retention requirement).
• Anonymous analytics — 13 months rolling.
