Cavalli is a wine estate with a gallery built into the architecture — sculptures, contemporary South African paintings, an artist-in-residence programme. The room is photographed constantly and the equipment we bring has to look right against the art. We invested in matte black cable management and powder-coated stands specifically for venues like Cavalli.
The gallery wing handles 50-100 guests in a seated configuration with the art visible from every table. The main reception hall handles 100-180 for medium-large weddings. The cocktail terrace bridges the two.
The gallery is glass on three sides with polished concrete floors — bright, reverberant, demanding of clean mid-range and disciplined bass. Sub bin goes well off the dancefloor and pointed away from the glass to avoid the resonance harmonic that the windows produce around 80Hz. The main hall is more forgiving — wood-panelled, dampened, easy.
Discreet rear access for sound + catering — protects the gallery's flow. Power is purpose-built for events; never tripped a breaker here. Coordinator team accustomed to multi-vendor coordination at premium service levels. Pack-down is at 01:30; the next morning's gallery opening means equipment is out by 03:00.
